When unable to establish an infrared communication:

1. Check your BIOS Setup.

1) Turn the computer on and press the F2 key to enter the BIOS Setup.

2) Select I/O Device Configuration in the Advanced menu and press the Enter

key.

3) Select IRDA Device, and press the F5 or F6 key to set it to Enabled.

4) Save the settings and exit Setup.

2. Check the Windows settings.

1) Click Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System >

Hardware tab > Device Manger.

2) Double-click on the 'SMC IrCC - Fast Infrared Port' item below the 'IrDA

Device' item.

3) In the Properties field in the Advanced tab, select 'Infrared' and select 'HP'

in the Value field.

4) Click the OK button.
